My Favorite Self Tanners

It’s getting to be that time of year where everyone is laying out and getting a tan…except me. If you’re anything like me and your skin hates the sun, I’m sure you’ll love to know about some good self tanners. Studies show that a woman with a tan or glow complexion increases self esteem levels and confidence. I mean, don’t we all feel better when we have a tan? At-home self tanners don’t all have to end in a blotchy mess. Read about a few of my favorite self tanners and let me know if you try one!

My Favorite Easy Tanner: Tan Towels

A self-tan towelette for you face and body that gives you a natural looking glow with an extremely easy application process.

*TIP* Make sure to put moisturizer on your hands, feet, elbows, and knees before application to avoid blotchiness.

Time to Develop: 4-6 hours, with the full tan effect after about 8 hours. Use continuously to develop a deeper tan.

Application Process: Rub the towel in circular motions over your entire body for an even glow and wash your hands after use!

Rating: 4 out of 5.

My Favorite In Shower Tanner: Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer

An in-shower lotion that produces a natural tan while also moisturizing your skin.

*TIP* Use after every 2-3 showers to maintain a beautiful tan and soft and glow skin tone.

*After 2 Uses*

Time to Develop: About 8 hours or overnight. A deeper tan develops after each use.

Application Process: Rub lotion into wet skin after shower and then pat dry.

My Favorite Mousse Tanner: St. Moriz

An inexpensive self tanning mousse that is a great replacement for the pricier ones that develops a very deep tan quickly.

*DOWNSIDE* Compared to some of the pricier self tanning mousses this one does not last as long. (About 3-4 days depending on how often you shower)

Time to Develop: You will see a color change immediately but it takes about 4-6 hours to further develop. Do not come into contact with water before then!

Application Process: Use cloth tanning mitt to apply mousse in circular motions over each part of your body. A tip is to exfoliate and moisturize before-hand to get the most even tan. Wash off excess after 4-6 hours in shower with water only, no soap!

Rating: 4 out of 5.

My Favorite Face Tanner: St. Tropez Bronzing Mist

One of my all time favorite products right here! This is a water based mist that is great for sensitive skin and creates a beautiful bronzy glow.

*TIP* I apply over my makeup every few days to enhance my glow and create a dewy complexion.

Time To Develop: Takes about 2-3 hours to develop depending on base skin tone.

Application Process: Spray water mist all over face and neck and then fan dry.

Rating: 5 out of 5.
